For Your Artistic Inspiration

Ran across this a few weeks ago though I don't remember where. Thought of you all as I rediscovered it today in my "notes" program where I had written it down.

"Come wander with me, she said,
Into regions yet untrod;
And read what is still unread
In the manuscripts of God."

Vik Muniz

Thanks for posting, Aaron.  Here's an art piece I didn't share last night by the same artist, Vik Muniz.
It's made of dirt.

I think we should plan on watching his film, "Wasteland,"  at one of our future meetings.

Inspiration

Hey everybody! Sorry I wasn't able to make it tonight AND that I didn't post this in time but I hope you guys like it.

So. Here's what's been inspiring me lately:

Dave Rapoza. He's a digital artist with a TON of talent (in my opinion). Someday I would love to paint like this. His work is generally very vivid, detailed and pretty dang fun (he did a whole Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle series, which is incredible). He does a lot of work on movies and games, which is what I intend to focus most of my art on so I've been checking out his art pretty heavily over the past couple weeks.

I just remembered that I said I was going to post this. I hope yall are doing well and are reflecting on your lives as you imitate the Creator (on a much smaller scale) in your creativity.

Shoes

Memories don’t fade

they stack.

What was once fresh becomes a still;

a sweet wisp of the sensory registry of a moment long passed.

But for a few drawn-out seconds the still comes to life

and time is halted.

The earth winds its way back and those moments are lived again.

I almost become who I once was.

Almost slipping back into those shoes I realize that my feet have grown.

As I try to cram my feet in

the futility sets in.

Accepting the reality of my ever-changing self

I take the shoes

ever so delicately

and return them to their box

in my closet of memories.

With an inward quietness I slip on a new pair

to start working them in.
